My money's on Jim Jarmusch, Spike Jonze, or Werner Herzog. I have it on good authority that the latter has been looking to kickstart a new Halloween franchise for years now, starring Klaus Kinski's corpse as the villain.

Yeah right, we should be so lucky. They'll bring it back when they feel it's profitable. Maybe they'll get Mike Myers to produce the Michael Myers franchise!

I was always baffled by "Season of the Witch"...the lonely non-Michael Myers related Hallowe'en film. I've not seen a single one, but that one appeals most to me.

that bizarro Halloween III is the only one I own. Haven't watched it yet though; I bought the tape this summer from guy on the street selling videos for $2, which, fortunately, did NOT actually only contain footage of him masturbating into a toilet as my friend Leif suggested. Of everything purchased, we DID watch this Mark Hamill movie called Slipstream which seems to have been forgotten to time despite also featuring Bill Paxton, F. Murray Abraham, and Ben Kingsley!!! Probably because, according to the intro-logos, it was actually produced by the Cineplex Odeon Corporation, presumably during a slow period in which their theatres experienced their worst period of Mark-Hamill-undersaturation ever. Anyway, despite being far from a "great sci-fi thriller" (as its IMDB picture would suggest), the hilarious ending is worth the rental cost alone.

Yet Halloween 3 had NOTHING to do with the whole storyline. It had a good seen with a drill going into someone's head though :)

Somehow i remember it because the chick was a twitcher after she got the drill. (Yes i know that's sexual)
